Steam room
Steam Rooms by PWG

At PWG, we know how to build a steam room—because we’ve built hundreds.
With over a decade of experience and countless residential and commercial installations across North America, we’ve mastered the art of combining performance, aesthetics, and durability in every project.

Each steam room is built using a high-density EPS (expanded polystyrene) structure—a lightweight, self-supporting, and highly insulated system that ensures exceptional heat retention and energy efficiency. Once coated with our specialized waterproofing membrane, the cabin becomes a sealed container that guarantees total steam and moisture containment, preventing any leakage or structural damage.

Our cabins are fully customizable in shape, size, and layout, and clients are free to select any finishing material—from marble, natural stone, and ceramic, to mosaic, resin, or microcement—ensuring complete design freedom.

For maximum comfort, we also offer heated benches and wall systems, seamlessly integrated into the structure to elevate the thermal and sensory experience.

Steam generation is powered by top-tier equipment, including:

  • Our exclusive Sentōra by Carel generators
  • Or other leading brands, depending on the project scope

Systems are available with electric or gas power sources, and our commercial-grade models—made in the USA—feature titanium heating elements for long-lasting performance and reduced maintenance. For our systems we can offer remote assistance so we can tell you exactly when your steam room requires maintenances.

This proven construction method also allows PWG to deliver custom HammamsThermarium cabins, and Rasul rooms, all designed to meet the highest standards of functionality, comfort, and wellness.

The Origins of the Steam Room

The steam room, commonly referred to as the Turkish bath or Hammam, has ancient roots dating back to the Roman Empire, where the calidarium—a hot, humid room—was a key feature of the thermae, the public bath complexes that served as both wellness and social hubs.
With the fall of the Roman Empire, this bathing culture was preserved and transformed in the Middle East and North Africa, giving rise to the Hammam tradition under Islamic influence. These spaces evolved into richly decorated sanctuaries of purification, combining steam, water, marble, and ritual.

The concept later spread to Ottoman Turkey, where it became an essential part of daily life—valued not just for hygiene, but for its healing, spiritual, and social significance. Over centuries, the Turkish bath became a symbol of hospitality and rejuvenation.

Today, modern steam rooms honor this legacy by blending ancient hydrothermal principles with contemporary engineering, materials, and comfort—preserving the essence of the experience while meeting modern design and performance standards.
